6 months of keto

Looks like it’s time for an update since I’ll be completing 6 months of Keto in 3 days. Dunno if I’ll reach 50 lbs, I’m at 48.3 pounds lost since I started. I’ve lost 2 shirt sizes (XXL to L), gone from size 38 pants to… I need to buy new ones and they’ll probably be 34 or maybe even 32. I’m on my 4th new belt loop and I need to drill some more.

Last night we went to JCW’s for dinner. I got the 1lb burger as a lettuce wrap. The people we were with made a quip about artery clogging. Because none of the proported “evidence” of saturated fat causing health problems has ever been disproven… oh wait, ALL of it has? Weird.

    Chris, do you have any words on why keto women don’t tend to enjoy similar success? I’ve read most of the popular posts regarding this, but maybe you have a few soundbites.

    I will say that Keto Chow is making things easier, especially now that I have my MCT oil and am getting micronutrients consistently. I have more energy and feel less hungry, something keto alone didn’t give me, though I stuck to it strictly for months.

    I’ve seen several Reddit people pooh-pooh concerns about lack of weight loss, telling people to focus on other things. But it’s hard to justify sticking with something difficult for reasons other than why you started it in the first place. Anyway, glad you’re succeeding.

    One thing more: is it possible to get the Keto Chow with half the salt? I know sodium is supposed to be good for us, but it seems to be making me retain water.

      Not sure why they don’t typically lose as much weight. Over on http://www.reddit.com/r/xxketo/ there’s some very good info specific to those with XX chromosomes =)

      Yes, if you’re not losing weight it does indeed make it harder to keep going, I’m glad that Keto Chow seems to be helping.

      Half the salt? I’ll have to look into it.

        Thanks, Chris! I read through the xxketo FAQ’s my very first day, but I can always check back in case I’ve missed anything. It could be, now that I have the right tools, the only ‘missing ingredient’ is time.
