Day 012 – 100 days of Keto (Chow)

The plan was to do Keto Chow for 3 meals a day for 100 days though I decided I wasn’t going to kill myself or stress about it. Yesterday evening we went out to dinner at a Chinese Buffet. There was a Mongolian grill so I was able to find plenty of keto friendly fare. Despite that, this morning when I tested my blood ketones they were less than 0.1 mmol/L. Dunno if there were hidden carbs in the stuff I ate or if the major amount of protein I ate kicked off gluconeogenesis.

Anyway, today for lunch I made a “frosty” using the blender. I did have to put it in the freezer for 30 minutes for the salt crystals to dissolve fully and the rest of the flavors to equalize and mellow out. “Frosty” Keto Chow is yummy.

    Chinese restaurants generally use a lot of sugar in their sauce and glaze that over everything. Can you talk more about how you make the smoothie? I’ve just blended ice and mixed that with keto chow and MCT. After blending, I generally place in the fridge, not freezer. What do you mean by salt crystals?

      Yep, that’s why I didn’t eat anything with sauce on it (not even soy sauce). If you head over to the keto chow preparation instructions and watch the video, I talk about using the blender. In short: you just use I’ve instead of some or most of the water.

      Keto chow has various crystals of different stuff, notably salt. They don’t dissolve immediately and impart a really strong taste until they are gone. That’s why I say to let it sit overnight if possible.
